Located not far from the cottages, on the outskirts of Arles, the Camargue is a privileged place where life is good and visitors can discover fabulous landscapes and a culture steeped in tradition. The Camargue Regional Natural Park is a protected area. Thanks to this, flora and fauna evolve freely. Horses and flamingos, emblematic figures of the region, roam amidst vast wild spaces, crossing herds of bulls raised in freedom. You will encounter approximately 350 species of birds migrating through the Camargue or living there permanently.

THE ORNITHOLOGICAL PARK OF PONT DU GAU IN SAINTES MARIES DE LA MER

The Pont de Gau Ornithological Park is the ideal site to discover, observe, and photograph numerous species of birds, including hundreds of flamingos, in their natural habitat. Pond, marsh, lawns, roubines, reed beds, and sansouïres make up this vast 60-hectare space entirely dedicated to the discovery of the nature and birds of the Camargue.

AIGUES MORTES

Located 6km from the sea, Aigues-Mortes, a fortified medieval city, displays a prestigious heritage in the heart of one of the most beautiful natural sites in Provence, the Camargue.

From the top of the ramparts, take the walkway and stroll between past and present. The view over the Camargue is magical. And to finish, a must-visit, the beautiful Place Saint Louis. Friendly and shaded, it’s a real invitation to relax! “The place to be” to sip a refreshing drink or taste one of the local culinary specialties (bull meat stew or the delicious sweet fougasse of Aigues Mortes.

Le Grau-du-roi

The picturesque seaside resort of Le Grau-du-Roi, on the edge of the Camargue Regional Park, offers visitors beautiful sandy beaches in one of the most picturesque locations on the Mediterranean coast. Be sure to visit Le Grau-du-Roi and its famous aquarium during a stay in the region! The Seaquarium and Museum of the Sea was created in the Port Camargue district in 1989, where you can discover many marine species, including an area dedicated to fishing and a Center for the Study of Mediterranean Sea Turtles

Capital of the Camargue, a pretty white town surrounded by water with the Mediterranean Sea on one side and the marshes on the other, the picturesque town of Saintes-Marie-de-la-Mer has a lot of charm due to its history and traditions.

Take a stroll through its streets, relax in the shade of a terrace with a local fish dish, and end the day on one of the many beaches along the coast, guaranteed change of scenery!
